Winter in Mongolia is a season of stunning beauty, rich traditions, and warm hospitality. Picture vast snow-covered steppes, majestic eagle hunters, and welcoming nomadic families. Clear blue skies—over 260 days a year—make the icy landscapes even more breathtaking.
From November to February, temperatures can drop to -30°C, yet the dry cold feels crisp and refreshing. Winter transforms the country into a wonderland of frozen rivers and endless white horizons. Visitors can enjoy dog sledding, taste hearty Mongolian cuisine, and experience the resilience of nomadic life.
Though winter is harsh, it’s also magical—an unforgettable adventure under Mongolia’s brilliant blue skies.
Pick you up at the airport and explore Ulaanbaatar city. Visit Sukhbaatar Square, the city’s central square, in front of the Mongolian Parliament building where you will be informed about Mongolian rich history and latest updates and history of Ulaanbaatar (UB) city as well. Then you will be taken to the National Museum of Mongolian History. The next beautiful attraction is Gandan Buddhist Monastery. The monastery is gigantic and it displays great arts and sculptures including 27 meters high gold plated Buddha statue.
In the morning, we will depart for the Chinggis Khan Equestrian Statue and Terelj National Park, the majestic statue, situated in a vast plain that offers 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape, where you can explore the statue complex. At noon, we will proceed to Terelj National Park for lunch. Following our meal, we will explore Turtle Rock and visit the Meditation Temple, where you will enjoy the serene atmosphere and beautiful views of the park. In the evening, you will stay at a tourist camp, where you relax and enjoy dinner.
In the morning, after enjoying breakfast, you will be transported to the dog sledding location to prepare for an unforgettable Arctic experience. Following a briefing and safety orientation, you will embark on an exploration of the Mongolian winter wilderness via dog sled with a team of Siberian Huskies. You’ll have the opportunity to learn how to drive your own team and glide silently across the snow for 5 km. After the dog sledding adventure, you will continue to explore the natural surroundings on horseback for one hour. In the evening, head back to Ulaanbaatar for a night.
In the morning, we will set off for the national park. Upon arrival, you will receive a brief introduction to the area and its wildlife. Later, embark on a guided wildlife tour in search of the iconic Przewalski’s horse, along with other fauna such as deer, foxes, and various bird species. We will stop at scenic viewpoints to capture breathtaking scenery and take memorable photographs. Enjoy a delightful meal accompanied by warm conversation while experiencing a traditional Mongolian winter night in a ger.
Stay with a nomadic family to learn about their lifestyle, traditions, and herding practices. Enjoy a meal with them, immersing yourself in authentic Mongolian hospitality. Finally, begin your journey back to Ulaanbaatar, making stops for any last-minute sightseeing along the way.
Finally take you to the airport.
